The purpose of doing a sociological research on social behavior of people is to get a deeper understanding. Human behavior can be investigated is almost unlimited direction, sociologists in different ways some of these aspects are investigated. There are four main purposes of the section

1. Training sociology majors through intensive education at both the undergraduage and graduate levels,

2. Carrying out research projects in selected areas of sociology,

3. Providing introductory sociology, anthropology, political science, psychology and philosophy courses to The Department of Sociology students, and

4. Offering courses to students in other departments in order ot increase their understanding of culture and society.

5. The department offers a four-year undergraduate program, degree and graduate programs and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology.
